Skype has launched a new online platform to help teachers around the globe get in touch.
Skype in the Classroom, to give the project its full name, was designed as an aid for schools looking to take part in collaborative projects around the world. Described as a ‘free global community’, the platform allows teachers to search for like-minded colleagues by criteria such as the age groups with whom they work, location and subjects of interest, and also makes accessing and sharing teaching resources simple.
Since its trial period began back in December, Skype in the Classroom has built up a community of more than 10,000 teachers from across the world. If you want to get involved, visit education.skype.com
