Farm to Fork Online Field Trips

  • Farm to Fork Online Field Trips

Join a Farm to Fork Online Field Trip and your class can visit a factory floor, board a fishing boat or stand in a muddy field without putting on their wellies! We’re bringing food producers from around the world into the classroom so children can talk to a Costa Rican banana grower or an Italian pasta maker. Farm to Fork, part of The Tesco Eat Happy Project, is dedicated to helping children learn where their food comes from so they can have a healthier, happier relationship with food.

How can a Farm to Fork Online Field Trip benefit your class?

  • They provide the children with a rich learning experience, allowing them to interact and ask questions to the farmer or food producer.
  • They teach the children about everyday foods, their origin and the journey they make to our stores.
  • The online field trips are accompanied by a variety of free-to-use KS2 resources - lesson plans, activities and recipes - that enrich the learning experience.. These have been created by education professionals and are aligned with the new curriculum.
  • They make great use of technology in the classroom and are broadcasted using Google Hangouts from various locations to primary schools throughout the UK. All you need is a Google+ account and a computer with a webcam and microphone.
  • Online field trips ultimately provide the class with a fun, engaging and informative lesson that encourages children to learn about the food they eat and its journey from farm to fork.
  • Online field trips are free for everyone to view.
