Now is the opportunity for your school to help children to be Roadwise too.

News about our fantastic project for Primary Schools

A full day of workshops for the whole school - from Nursery to Year 6, with everything planned – from a suggested timetable for the whole day - to the individual workshops for each year including resources.

Why include road-user education for all years?  This and many other questions a teacher might have are answered in the booklets.

The workshops allow for flexibility and teachers have commented that the workshops are easy to use, with plenty of material (often too much for one day)!

No one wants to hear of a child having been injured on the road and Roadwise Education seeks to promote safe behaviour combined with knowledge.

There are four main workshops for each year:

Awareness and knowledge of traffic and its environment
A safe strategy for crossing the road
Visibility
Signs and symbols
DVD (with visuals for each year) and song
And for most years there is a choice of project too.

Whilst the workshops primarily relate to pedestrian safety – as the workshop titles clearly indicate - other aspects are included.

Teachers comments about the day include:
A really great day.  Children loved it and learnt a lot.
Very interactive, good balance of practical, visual stimulus, worksheets, creativity and discussion.
The day has had a great impact upon the school and the children learnt so much.

Pupils really enjoy and learn from the day often saying what they will now do to make themselves safer.
